Bro. Ken Gregory           Bro. Tim & Mrs. Amy Scrivener

The Outreach Ministry of People’s Baptist Church is under the direction of Bro. Ken Gregory. Bro. Gregory is the former pastor of two South Texas churches. His wife Charlene is currently on staff as one of the “Farm” telephone operators. Bro. Gregory and his secretary Sister Amy Scrivener operate the truly multi-faceted part of the ministry called Outreach. What all is involved? Outreach is basically divided into four areas; Soul-winning, Bus Ministry, community outreach (other than soul-winning) and correspondence with supporters and potential supporters alike.

The soul-winning efforts include open-air/street preaching led by Bro. Will Miller, the jail ministry encompasses the Mackenzie Annex of The Nuece County Jail and will soon also include the Juvenile Detention Center. The effort is led by Pastor Ed Cowger, Bro. Keith Watts, and Bro. Gregory. Bro. Tim Scrivener and his wife Amy lead the Sunday School visitation. Various church members/staff and residents of the Homes participate in the door-to-door ministry led by Bro. Gregory

Our Bus Ministry team members include Bros. Rick Heflin, Gonzalo Castillo, Sister Amy Scrivener, Charlene Franklin, and Bro. Jerry Parshall in Supply keeps the bus stocked and fueled.. This area of ministry is growing rapidly and we are in constant need of bus captains and workers.

Correspondence is a major part of our efforts as well. Though Bro. Gregory leads it, Sister Amy Scrivener is the driving force behind it. She personally handles well over 8,000 pieces of correspondence every month and ensures a never-ending supply of Gospel tracts. We do follow-up on soul-winning efforts and church visitors, sending out potential and current support letters, jail correspondence, and general inquiries.
